Arts & Culture

Arts and culture facilities are typically designed within the metaphors of their field. Often intended to be works of art, these buildings appear as artistic contrasts in adjacent spaces that are equipped with the best in entertainment technologies (audio and video).  However, most of these buildings lack perceptual comfort measures, as they do not formally assess human comfort, human design preference and issues like wayfinding, viewing and listening positions.  Much of these issues can be scientifically determined with high end computer modeling of acoustics, AV, lighting and daylighting, but seldom is this technical work done scientifically.
