Acoustic Simulation Lab
Developed in collaboration with Yamaha, the Acoustic Simulation Lab is a room that was designed to simulate the sounds of buildings and products before they are built. As a hemispherical array of 16 monitor loudspeakers, it was originally designed for Yamaha Professional Audio to use in their New York musical instrument demonstration spaces to simulate the sounds of their instruments in different performance venues.
While Architecture is often about trial and error, Orfield is oriented in the use of science-based simulation techniques, which allow clients to understand the breadth of their issues prior to design build.
